The 67th Independence celebration in Jirapa was characterised by students marching past from kindergarten, primary, Junior and Senior, Kadet Corps, Nursing Training colleges.
The Honorable MCE in his speech asked Ghanaian’s to reflect on the 67th anniversary of independence. Ghanaians should rise above partisan politics and uphold the image of the motherland.
The theme chosen for the celebration ‘Our democracy, our pride’ is appropriate if we allow it to influence our lives positively. These ideals has been overshadowed in our lives leading to corruption, disease and poverty. It is on this occasion we observe a minute of silence for the departed soul of the CEO for Royal Cozy Hills Hotel (Jirapa Dubai) Mr. Eric Johnson. His death has left indigenes with insecurity and toiled our image nationally and globally. But he assured the citizenry that the Security agencies are on top of the issue to maintain a high degree of security and bring the perpetrators to justice.
He also encouraged the students to take the opportunity available such us free SHS and Basic Education to be the best citizens of the future of the country.
Awards with citations and cash rewards and educational support were presented to acknowledge illustrious students and outstanding achievements.
