Our social welfare office is responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals and families in need. It helps people access services such as financial aid, healthcare support, food assistance, housing programs, child and family services, and employment resources. The office works to improve the well-being and quality of life of vulnerable members of society by ensuring they receive the help and guidance they need.

LIST OF SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE DEPARTMENT


  • Facilitate and monitor Leap cash out transfer to leap beneficiaries

  • Enrolling indigents and persons with Disabilities on to the National Health Insurance Scheme

  • Provide Child protection services

  • Handle Family tribunal and Juvenile cases in the court

  • Handles child custody, maintenance and access cases in the office

  • Promotes Village savings and loan scheme(VSLA) among groups to improve their income levels

  • Facilitates community Self-help projects to improve the living standards of the people

  • Assist to maintain specialized residential services in the Municipality

  • Facilitate training of individuals and community groups in employable skills to improve their income levels

  • Teach deprived women in home management and child care

  • Mobilise and train voluntary leaders and community-based organisations as change agents in the communities

  • Support extension services to governmental and non-governmental organisations,etc
