On 9th November, 2022, the Hon. MCE as part of his routine visits to government departments and institutions in the Municipality to assessed for himself the progress and challenges so as to properly inform him what positive programs, policies or projects needed to be implemented.
Hain Polyclinic now upgraded to Hospital received the Hon. MCE and his team at the facility, Mr. Ayariga Joshua, Medical Superintendent together with some staffs conducted the Hon. MCE and his team around the Hospital facility and later had a round table discussions.
The Medical superintendent on behalf of his staff thanked the MCE for the visit as he believed positive results will be achieved after their encounter with the Hon.MCE.
Briefing the Hon. MCE, he noted that, the nineteen (19) bed capacity has been upgraded to a hospital status hence the urgent need for more infrastructure and other equipment to support their daily operations.
He indicated, Hain Hospital is a referral point for six sub-districts in Jirapa Municipality and also to some other communities from Gbwollu, Tumu and DBI that are very closed to Hain.
He outlined, some of their challenges to be;
Inadequate space maternity ward and Pediatric unit, Administration block and equipments, weak official vehicle which need complete rehabilitation or change of engine, renovation of old structures, laboratory units and equipments, and land dispute.
He again noted, the Hospital attend 50 to 60 cases daily and on markets days up to 100 cases. The ANC unit equally attend to 20 pregnant women a day and 3 delivery.
He appealed to the Hon. MCE to liaise with National Service Secretariat to support them with personnel’s and also with VRA to change their pre paid meters to post paid at the various CHPS within the Hain Hospital catchment area.
Hon. Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri acknowledged the tireless efforts of staffs of the Hospital over the years and their ability to run daily activities in the midst of the numerous challenges.
He expressed his profound gratitude and encouraged them as he has taken notices of all they challenges and will work within his capacity positively to address some if not all.
He called on Non-governmental bodies within and outside the municipality and the good people of Jirapa to work closely with his office to respond to needs of Hain Hospital.
