The Honourable MCE honoured an invitation to chair the 24th Matriculation Ceremony for new students at the Jirapa Community Health Nursing Training College which took place on Thursday March 12, 2026.
A total of 208 students, which includes 63 Registered Public Health Nursing students and 145 Nurse Assistant Preventive students were matriculated.
Honourable Peter N. N. To-ang took the moment to congratulate the matriculants for being chosen from over 500 applicants.
He encouraged them to stay disciplined and focused on the main purpose of being in the college: to train as community health nurses.
The Honourable MCE also used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the tutors and college management for all the academic achievements the college has accomplished so far. He urged them to keep up the great work.
Honourable Peter N. N. To-ang expressed the Municipal Assembly’s commitment to supporting the Nursing Training Schools in the municipality, and added that the Jirapa Community Health Nursing Training College will definitely receive its fair share of this support.
Currently, the Assembly is working on a SOCO project to build a new lecture hall on the campus of the Jirapa Community Health Nursing Training College. This project will enhance the school’s chances of being approved to offer BSc Nursing programs.
