The Emergency General Assembly meeting was held on 30th August, 2024 at MacNaulty hall, Jirapa.
The main agendum was to peruse and approve the 2025 Annual Action Plan, By-laws and other pertinent issues.
Among other issues discussed was ex-gratia for former Assembly Members from 2019 to 2023.
Members asked various questions among which included fixing of bore holes at Sigri, structures in place for utilization of District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) construction equipment, maintenance of Sigri roads, welfare of assembly members and others.
In response to the above issues, The Honourable MCE indicated that the Sigri road has been awarded to a contractor for rehabilitation. He also revealed that a DRIP coordinator, management committee made up of officers of the Municipal Assembly, a military unit in charge of discipline in the use of DRIP equipment are some of the structures put in place.
The General assembly approved the GIZ-REACH Community Action plans, composite annual action plan for 2025, Cross Border Special Development Interventions and By-laws which included the herder settlers and farmers resolution.
